An internship is a great way to jumpstart a career; a chance for undergraduate and graduate students to test out their skills and gain valuable on-the-job experience. The Durres Port Authority internship program is designed to develop, teach and mentor interns as they explore career opportunities within the maritime industry while giving them the opportunity to apply their education to hands-on focused tasks in various departments throughout The Port of Durres. Over the years, our established internship program has recruited students from various fields of study.
The internship schedules and duration will vary depending on the terms established by the educational institutions. Interns are not members of a bargaining unit and are considered to be at-will employees at the Durres Port Authority.Prior to their application, students should indicate the preferred field of work as well as the units/divisions that they consider for the internship placement.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Internship Application Form
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Copy of Identification Documents
- Certification from the Higher Education Institution officials, with as many details as possible as well as copies of the university transcripts where the intern is continuing his/her studies. Copies of college transcripts dated within the last term are required.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Interns must be:
- Recent graduates who have completed, a bachelors or masters degree from a qualifying national or abroad educational institution
- Highly Proficient in MS Office programs
Applicants will also be evaluated on the basis of the following specific criteria:
- Academic performance in subjects related to the program of study and internship profile
- Maritime Education interns will be prioritized
