APD Executive Director, Afrim Bakaj, meet today at noon the Ambassador of Turkey in Tirana, Mr.Ahmet Yörük, who was accompanied by members of the diplomatic corps.
Mr. Bakaj welcomed the diplomats from Turkey, praising the importance of the relations between our two countries, as well as the current relations in the field of transport.
Mr.Yörük called perfect
relations between the two countries, underlining the need for increased trade exchanges between
Turkey and Albania. “Durres is an important city due to the port, a very important area for shipping,” said Mr. Yörük.
Then the Turkish diplomats and businessmen accompanying the ambassador were introduced to the capacity and situation in the largest port of our country.
They were also interested in the progress of the deepening of the basin, its access channel and the infrastructure within the port space.
Only in January-September 2018 the exchanges of the port of Durres with those of Turkey reach 19 percent of the total 9-month volume of processed goods in Durres. APD leaders and Turkish diplomats talked about the possibilities of cooperation with separate ports of Turkey in the future.
