January-March 2020 / Durres Port trade exchanges with 44 ports from 18 countries May 11th, 2020

In the course of the first months of 2020, Durres Port has been the port of call of numerous merchant vessels arriving from 44 ports in 18 countries all over the world.

According to the DPA Statistics Department, during this first quarter of 2020 the imp/exp freights handled in the country’s largest harbor, have arrived or departed from/to 44 ports inEurope, Africa, Asia and America.

Turkey is the top trading partner of Durres Port carring out exchanges via 10 ports, succeeded by Russia with a total of 7 ports while Italy, Tunisia and the USA are the following trade partners with 3-6 ports of exchange. Over 45,000 tons of goods loaded from the ports of Houston and Lake Charles (USA) have been processed at Durres Port terminals during January-March 2020.

An estimated 50 percent of the cargo handled at the DPA quays  during these months have been shipped/ forwarded  to/ from the ports of Russia, Turkey and the United States.
