Second meeting of the International Law Enforcement Contact Group 05.02.2020

Further commitment approaching higher standards of professionalism and integrity concerning critical issues regarding law enforcement capacities in Durres Port which contribute the strategic goals to counter corruption and reduce threat of transnational crime and terrorism were in focus of the second meeting held yesterday between Durres Port Authority CEO, Mr.Pirro Vengu and ICITAP (International Criminal Investigation and Training Assistance Program) as well as French and Spanish Embassies representatives.

Mr. Vengu, highlighted that consolidation of law enforcement agencies and advancement of operational performance to respond proactively to port users needs in terms of security parameters and border management challenges constitute crucial priorities and objectives of Durres Port Authority. Concrete steps have been taken in this respect in the country’s largest port while there is decisive commitment on further enhancement and intensification of law enforcement activities and perspectives to be implemented in the port area.

This is the second meeting organized at this level of representation between Durres Port Authority executives and international partners. The meeting was attended by Erhadi Thomas, Homeland Security Attaché at the French Embassy, ​​Alberto Herrera, Contact Officer at the Spanish Embassy and  ​​Stefano Leccia, Border Guard Commander at the Guardia di Finanza.
