The Regional Workshop and training practices were held on Thursday in the premises of the Durres Port Authority as part of the activity on the “Manual of Port and Airport Capacity Assessment Manual”, organized by the World Health Organization.
This regional event was attended by representatives of nine different countries not only from the region, who in addition to the theoretical part visited some of the port facilities.
Workshop participants were welcomed by the Deputy Executive Director of APD, Mr. Petrit Çerçizi, who appreciated the importance of this activity for port staff as well as regional co-operation in assessing port capacities.
APD Promotion Sector specialists as well as Environmental Sector Leaders presented data on the port space, its operation and future projects.
Mr. Florel Tola, Director of the Directorate of Environment, in addition to the welcoming speech, spoke on central control and coordination. Indrit Kalaja stopped longer in compiling Ships Health Certificates and in the Port Health Service.
During the day, participants in the Work Shop have visited port quarantine facilities, the offices of the Department of Environment and one of the ferries stimulating “free practice” procedures.
