Over 367,000 domestic and foreign travelers have preferred to travel by ferry to / from Durres during January-July this year.
The figures are made known by the Statistics Division at APD, which reports an increase in the number of voyages as well as in the number of passengers compared to the same period in 2018.
During July, ferries from Durres and vice versa were used by 117,000 passengers. The number of passengers arriving by ferry from Bari, Ancona and Trieste to Durres has reached over 201 thousand in 7 months, increasing by 2%, as in entrance also to the exit from Durres.
Meanwhile, it is noticed that over 110 thousand foreign passengers have traveled by ferry lines Durres – Bari and Durres – Ancona – Trieste and return. Within 7 months the ferries have carried 577 total round-trip cruises or 5% increase in the number of round-trip ferries
In January-July of this year besides passengers, ferries to/from Durres transported approximately 547 thousand tons of cargo or 5 percent more than the same period last year.
Sources added that the port of Durres had reached 341,000 tons by ferry, while departing towards the ports of Bari, Ancona and Trieste with about 206,000 tons of other goods. Goods were transported with more than 46,000 trucks and trailers.
