Në të njëjtën kohë, në mënyrë që të dyportet të përdoren plotësisht, ajo që është me të vërtetë vendimtareështë të kemi një linjë hekurudhore moderne dhe kjo është gjithashtudiçka në proces dhe që po modernizohet. Ndërsa flasim kështu, nëse e shohim rajonin si të tillë, të dy portet që lidhen me Korridorin VIII drejt Maqedonisë së Veriut, Bullgarisë e më tej me Detin e Zi si dhemundësojnë lidhjen drejt Europës Qendrore dhe Veriore, çka vërtetonedhe potencialin e këtyre porteve. Kjo është dhe arsyeja pse investimetsi në infrastrukturën portuale, por edhe më gjerë, në infrastrukturënhekurudhore janë hapat e duhur.”

“Both ports are one of the key windows of Albania as well as the region to the world. In that respect the connections that the port is offering to all the goods but also to the people coming to the region coming to Albania, coming to visit, are absolutely essential. At the same time in order for both of the ports to be fully utilized what is really crucial is also to have a modernized rail connection and this is also something that is being produced and that is being modernized as we speak. So if we see the region as such those two ports connecting with the Corridor VIII towards North Macedonia and then towards Bulgaria, the connection to the Black Sea as well as the connection towards the central and north of Europe you can see the potential of these ports and that’s why the investments both in the port infrastructure but also wider in the rail infrastructure is the way to go”
