Western Balkans Investment Structure Representatives (WBIF), the European Commission and the EBRD, paid a visit to the Port of Durres, Friday morning.
The visit comes within the framework of the WBIF meeting that took place this week in Tirana. The participants were welcomed by the General Director of the Durres Port Authority, Mr.Agron Tare and APD staff.
Their first stop was at the Western Terminal and then the Ferry Terminal (AFTO).
A year ago, the WBIF approved a 28m-euro grant for the reconstruction of the Quay number 1 and 2 at the Western Terminal. This investment is expected to enable increasing of cargo handling capacity and depth of the Port, with the aim of anchoring large tonnage vessels and increasing the sustainability of quays for high tonnage
